vWIZ-SPICE

Transistor-level circuit simulation  ·  part of the WIOWIZ analog and custom flow

Native transistor-level circuit simulation

vWIZ-SPICE is a native C++ hierarchical SPICE circuit simulator. It reads a transistor-level netlist and runs operating point, DC, AC and transient analyses directly through its own device models, matrix engine and solvers, with a qualified low-voltage BSIM3 path for IHP SG13G2. It does not invoke, link, load or package external EDA engines; the simulator is the product.

What it does

Hierarchical netlist

Reads a hierarchical transistor-level SPICE netlist as the circuit input for simulation.

Operating point

Solves the DC operating point to establish bias conditions across the circuit.

DC sweep

Sweeps source and parameter values to trace the circuit's DC characteristics.

AC analysis

Small-signal AC analysis for frequency-domain response around the operating point.

Transient analysis

Time-domain transient analysis producing waveforms for the simulated circuit.

BSIM3 device models

Clean-room BSIM3v3 device models plus R, C, L, diode and independent and controlled sources, qualified on SG13G2 low-voltage MOS cards.
